EXAMINATIONS
The main purpose of The Provincial Traffic Centre is conducting
examinations for drivers and candidates for drivers. The examinations are carried out according
to the Traffic Law Act (Journal of Laws No. 98, item 602 of 1997 with later amendments) and to
the executive regulations to this Act - mainly in the Ordinance of the Minister of Infrastructure
"Regarding training, examining and acquiring authorization for drivers, instructors and examiners"
(Journal of Laws No. 217, item 1834 of 2005 with later amendments) The abovementioned regulations
cover issues concerning the process of training candidates for drivers in training centers and
requirements and criteria for conducting national driving license exams.
Internal as well as external audits, carried out in the Traffic
Centre and frequent staff training courses ensure high quality service and objective evaluation.
Our actions are aimed at minimizing examination stress.
In order to participate in the exam, you should:
- present one of the following documents:
- personal identification;
- temporary residence card;
- passport;
- be in good mental and physical condition, not in a condition indicating
intoxication, consumption of alcohol or a similar substance.
In order to participate in the practical exam:
you are required to complete the theoretical exam with a positive result;
after which you have not more than 6 month to take part in the practical exam;
this period does not include periods, during which the Traffic Centre suspended
examinations due to unfavorable weather conditions (applies to A and A1 category);
when applying for the presence of an instructor, the
instructor has to present valid identification as well as a valid instructor certificate.
In order for the practical exam to take place:
You should show that have control over the vehicle, while on the
vehicle maneuvering area; the examiner must exclude the possibility of causing a threat to traffic safety,
subject to point 4 - for B and B1 driving license category;
You should complete all specified tasks on the vehicle maneuvering
area - for all other driving license categories and permits.
Participant's behavior suggesting a possibility of causing a threat to traffic safety:
actions indicating possible threat to health and life;
crossing over lines indicating outer boundaries of the driving areas;
knocking over pylons or poles;
failing twice to correctly perform moving off and driving forward and backwards
along the driving lane.
Due to the performed tasks, the examiner is obliged to:
check participant's identifications;
check instructor's identifications (when the instructor is about to be present
during the practical exam).
Due to the performed tasks, when there is a justified suspicion that
the participant is intoxicated, under the influence of alcohol or a similar substance, the examiner is
entitled to demand a breathalyzer test for the participant or the instructor.
The examiner will refuse to carry out the exam if:
it is impossible to determine the identity of the participant or the instructor;
the participant:
is intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or
similar substance, or has not agreed to take the breathalyzer test,
attempted to bribe the examiner in order to obtain a positive result of the examination,
does not meet the requirements specified in the medical certificate.
it is impossible to confirm instructor's certification or he/she
failed to attend the examination;
unfavorable weather conditions make it impossible to conduct the exam;
the instructor participating in the examination is intoxicated,
under the influence of alcohol or similar substance, or has not agreed to take the breathalyzer test;
the instructor attempted to bribe the examiner in order to obtain a
positive result of the examination;
the examiner has noticed a malfunction of the video recording device.
The examination is terminated by the examiner, if:
the participant uses materials or equipment as aids to answer
the questions during the theoretical exam;
the participant's behavior indicates possible threat to traffic safety;
the participant has caused a threat to health or lives of other traffic
participants or on the vehicle maneuvering area;
the participating instructor disturbs or hinders the exam;
participant's behavior is in violation of traffic laws in a manner,
specified in table no. 12 of the attachment no. 5 to the ordinance;
the participant or the participating instructor attempted to
bribe the examiner in order to obtain a positive result of the examination;
a malfunction of the video recording device has been noticed.
The examination may be terminated:
on participant's request;
by the supervising examiner, upon noticing
violation of rules and requirements of the examination.
